See Ya Summer

Well, summer has flown by and Katie has really "lived it up." She will be sad to say good-bye to bathing suits and sandals...
But she is also very eager to put on her winter hats and gloves, which she's already featuring around the house on a regular basis!
In addition to continuing to accessorize, Katie spends most of her day being a "big girl." She is 17 months going on 17 years!!!
Katie was under the weather a couple of weeks ago and Dad stayed home with her. He introduced her to the wonderful world of cartoons. She was sold!
Daisy is wearing a neck ring due to a minor injury. Katie is giving her lots of extra TLC!
We'll end this post with some final shots of Katie. In most of these, she is "hamming" up the camera because she is especially proud of her pigtails and new pink converse shoes (compliments of Nana Kat)!

Accessorizing!

Proving to be a true "girl", Katie's obsession with shoes (which started around her first birthday) has grown into a full blown love for all accessories. She loves hats, headbands, jewelry, sunglasses - anything she can get her hands on! I just want to be clear that I did not put any of these items on Katie to pose her for these pics - she finds these items and puts them on herself! What a hoot!
Katie has had a routine after her bath for several months now.  She puts every headband she owns on herself, me and anyone else in the room. I finally was able to capture it on camera.  Although you can't see Mom I also have several headbands on!
In these pictures, Katie literally took the sunglasses off the top of my head, put them on and started to dance. She seems to already know how "cool" she can be with sunglasses on!
We are pretty sure that this trait is here to stay and that she will be into "accessorizing" for many years to come!

Mom and Dad Get-Away!

This post is a bit different because we want to show some pics of Mom and Dad's trip to San Francisco and Napa, CA! We flew into San Fran and spent a day walking the city.  We saw all the San Fran classics - the piers, Alcatrez, the steep streets and the Golden Gate Bridge.
On the way up to Napa, we stopped to see Muir Woods and the famous CA redwoods. It was gorgeous and incredibly scenic until the fog rolled in.
As soon as we arrived in Napa we went straight to our first winery, tasted their wines, gathered cheese and sandwiches and then had a picnic lunch on their grounds.  It was perfect!
We spent the next day on a wine tour at a variety of wonderful wineries. It was a fantastic experience and we can't wait to go back!
Well, we can't do a post without giving you a Katie update. She has been very happy and very busy!
