Potty Princess

Friday, March 16th marked a very important day in Katie's development - she used the potty for the 1st time!

She hadn't had any interest in the potty since we purchased it a few months ago, but suddenly after returning from dinner she asked to use the potty. Sure enough, she did her business just like she said she needed to!

Katie spent the rest of the weekend asking to go potty - and more times than not, she was successful! Suddenly, we realized we had a Big Girl and we needed to move into full on "potty mode." Here she is discovering her pretty pink princess pull - ups for the first time. Very exciting!

Although she had fun trying them on, she does not have her nerve up to wear them regularly yet. She still wants her "di-dee". We'll get there though! Today at school she used the potty successfully as well. And she came right home and did the same. She is such a Big Girl!

Next BIG step - Getting rid of that Binky that's always in her mouth!



Just Hanging Around

This time of the year, we are all waiting for winter to end and spring to arrive.  Although the weekends have been fairly nice, we did manage to make a snowman with some leftover snow a couple of weeks ago.

Katie and I have also been patiently letting Dad paint Robby's room on the weekend so we've been doing a lot of hanging around! 

 Robby's room is finally done. Here is Dad covering the last of the purple paint. Now it's on to the bathroom!

In between painting Dad likes to brush Katie's hair. Her hair has blossomed into an absolutely beautiful head of curls. Both Mom and Dad can't get over how gorgeous she is!

Since hair is such a focus right now, we had a little fun with a wig for an old costume. Eddie looked especially gorgeous himself!

 

We wanted to show one quick pic of Robby in Mom at 6 months. Friday was the 24 week mark!

Winter Fun

Winter is moving along quickly and Katie is growing up fast.  We can't believe our baby is almost two! A few weeks ago we went to the National Western Stock Show which comes here to Denver every Jan. We saw lots of cows and sheep and a real rodeo!

 

Last Thurs. through Sat. we had a huge winter storm come through that left about 18 inches of snow. Friday ended up being a semi "snow" day with Daycare closing so we took Katie on her first sledding trip. She went down some serious hills and wasn't scared a bit!

 

 Katie and the dogs had a great time playing in the snow all weekend.

 We've also been busy inside the house. Now that we know Katie will have a brother we are working on painting his room. It started out a deep purple as you can see! We have lots of work to do before he gets here!

These last shots are of Katie being her usual self. She is still accessorizing (with a strong preference towards shoes)!

She also likes to do hair....especially Dad's!

She is our busy little girl and we couldn't adore her more!
