The family made the annual trip to Lake of the Ozarks last week to meet Nana and Poppy. We were a bit worried about how the 12+ hour drive would go with a 7 week old and a 2 year-old, but both kids were actually very good travelers and we made it there fairly painlessly.
The first day after arriving, we got in our bathing suits and went right down to the lake to swim and ski. Katie was very excited!
Katie loved the boat and the water right away. All those pool trips with Dad definitely helped her have no fear of the water!
Katie also enjoyed wading in the water behind the house. Dad went down just to walk along the water and before we knew it, Katie was completely in the water, clothes and all!
We went to the state park with a little beach and the fun in the water continued!
We also had fun outside the water. We went to Miner Mikes, an indoor kids center, on a rainy day. Despite being about the youngest kid there, Katie loved it and did every ride and activity there was!
Her most favorite was the little roller coaster. She was even more brave than Mom and put her hands up the whole time!
We also made the trek to Randy's Frozen Custard, which we usually frequent several times over the week. Katie ate an entire marshmallow concrete. Afterwards, she found a friend and they ran the ice cream off together!
While little Robby was too small to join in alot of the fun this year, he did enjoy spending lots of time with the family just hanging out.
Katie also had tons of fun goofing around with Nana and Poppy!
We all missed having Kristen, Owen, Parker and Cooper around this year but we can't wait to have fun doing all these things with them next year!
