2nd Birthday Part 2 and Easter

Katie's birthday fun continued on Sat. We met Nana and Poppy at the zoo!

We all had a great time seeing all the animals and having a picnic in honor of Katie turning two!

The highlight of the zoo trip was Katie's ride on the carousel with Poppy. It was her first carousel ride!

After the zoo we all went home and had birthday cake #2. This one (angel food) Mom has had almost every year of her life and now makes for Katie every year too!

 She definitely enjoyed eating this cake!

After cake - more presents!

 She was very pleased to get a seat for her baby.

 

She went right to work feeding her!

The next day was Easter Sunday and the fun continued. She was quite excited to get her very first Easter basket!

Later in the day we met Nana and Poppy and we all went to our good friends' house, the Taapkens, for drinks and an egg hunt.

 It was Katie's very first Easter egg hunt, and she figured it out very quickly!

Afterwards, we all went to Nana and Poppy's and had a yummy Easter dinner. What a fun birthday and Easter weekend!



2nd Birthday - Part 1

On Friday, April 6th our "Baby Girl" Katie turned two! We can hardly believe she is now our Big Girl! Friday started out an entire weekend of festivities.

At school, Katie had a little party. Mom brought cupcakes and Katie and her friends had quite a good time eating them!

Mom brought balloons and bubbles for everyone and Dad even came to see the fun too!

After the party, we went out for pizza!

After that it was time for presents!

She especially loved the big girl panties from Grandma Marti. She opened them right away and had to try them all on!

Next activity - Cake! On her actual birthday, she had a princess cake. Very fitting!

  She didn't eat much but she sure loved the plastic princesses on top of the cake!

 Katie's birthday ended with one more surprise - her very first tricycle from Mom and Dad. As you can see, it was a big hit!
