Thanksgiving 2010 - Part Two

In addition to having a great time over Thanksgiving, it turns out Katie hit a few milestones while we were in Michigan. First, Katie started sitting up on her own the week before Thanksgiving. She had been practicing this in her bumbo chair for months so we knew she could do it!

In addition to sitting, Katie started officially crawling on the day after Thanksgiving. Now that she knows how to get around she is always on the move. In fact, she is even experimenting with getting off her knees and onto her feet.  She will be walking before we know it!

Another big move that happened over Thanksgiving was that Katie learned to clap. Grandma Marti did patty-cake with her a few times and before we knew it she was mimicking her and clapping all the time! She is still working on being able to "roll it," though. :)
Now here are some final adorable shots of our quickly growing little girl's Thanksgiving weekend!

First Thanksgiving - Part One

Katie spent her first Thanksgiving in Michigan with tons of extended family and she had a ball! Grandma Marti could hardly wait to get her hands on her again and she swooped her off almost as soon as we stepped off the plane!
Katie also spent lots of time with her Aunt Danni and Aunt Spencer. She had a blast becoming "one of the girls."
Although she was monopolized by her Grandma and Aunts, Grandpa Joe and Great Grandpa Bob managed to get their time with her too. :)
Her Great Grandpa Bob played his guitar and sang to her. She loved it!
We had a nice Thanksgiving spread.
Katie enjoyed eating mashed potatoes for the first time. She doesn't like baby food but she does like grown-up food!
After dinner it was time for a nap. No one was able to get her down so her Great-Grandpa Bob took her and rocked and sang her to sleep. It is pretty special that she has a Great-Grandpa that is still so good with babies!
I'm wrapping up Part one with some of the many shots we got of Katie over the weekend. More to come in a few days with Part two!

7 Month Scooter

Our Little Katie is officially on the move. She is able to scoot anywhere she wants by using, at the very minimum, her arms and tummy. They call her "The Inchworm" now at school because she literally "inchworms" all around the room!

Katie has crawled on her knees for a few paces at a time but she always goes back to "the inchworm" so she's not quite aware enough that using her hands and knees is the way to go. She'll be there very soon though!

This weekend we celebrated both Dad and Nana Kat's birthday (they share Nov.12th).  Here is the Birthday Boy and Girl.

Since it's not as easy for all of us to go out to dinner together anymore, Nana Kat and Poppy Paul offered to babysit so Mom and Dad could go out to celebrate Dad's 31st birthday alone. It was very thoughtful of them to let Mom and Dad have a date night!

Katie had a wonderful time with Nana Kat and Poppy Paul. She showed them her "inchworm", bounced to classical music and she even got to try Nana Kat's yummy cauliflower soup! Here are some cute shots of her with her grandparents.

And one more pic with Katie and her "very old" Dad.  :)

Halloween Weekend

Sunday was Katie's first Halloween.  She was a very good sport when Mom put on her costume. Grandma Marti sent her her a really unique Unicorn costume and she looked adorable!

The tail was especially cute so Nana Kat helped her model it...

She thought it was quite amusing dressing up for Halloween but I think she'll probably have more fun next year when she really knows what's going on!

We also spent a lot of time this weekend trying to pose Katie in a cute outfit Aunt Kristen and Uncle Owen gave her. While the shots weren't exactly model-like, they were pretty hysterical...

Uh oh. She's been held up!

Ok, time to fall over now...

Resting....

Sticking out her bottom lip like Dad does...

Sticking out her tongue...

Well it was clear that Katie wasn't in the mood to pose. But we finally got a few good shots!
