Just Hanging Out

Katie's 4th month is marching along perfectly and she is still an absolute angel and the joy of our lives. Katie is such an easygoing child she pretty much just does whatever we are doing and she is always up for anything. She is still sleeping, eating and developing beautifully and she is the definite favorite in the baby room at "school" (of course).  Here are some shots of Katie just hanging out and doing her thing!

4 Months!

This week was a big week for Katie. On Monday, she started "school".  While Mom and Dad were very nervous about it, Katie was her usual easygoing self and she did wonderfully being away from family for the first time.  Here she is with Mom and Dad on the morning of her first day.

Here is Katie at "school" on her first day. She is in the bumbo chair.  :)

Katie's teachers told us that she is the easiest, strongest and most independent baby they have. They were amazed at her ability to have endless "tummytime" and her crazy rolling abilities. We are extremely happy with her "school" because they already adore little Katie.  Mom and Dad can't be happier to have been blessed with such an easygoing little girl!

On Friday, Mom brought bagels to Katie's "school" to thank the teachers for taking such good care of Katie and in honor of her 4 month birthday.  The teachers were very thankful and made sure that she had a great day. Ironically, a portion of the day before Katie's birth (April 5th) happened to air on Channel 7 on Friday afternoon, almost exactly 4 months to the day that it was filmed.  Channel 7 had interviewed Mom and Dad (while Mom was in labor) at the hospital in their birthing room in order to do a feature on new technology that enables doctors to monitor pregnant women and their babies from their blackberry's while their patients are in labor.  Both Mom and Dad were shown on the TV talking about this technology, just hours before little Katie was born! It will be a funny clip for her to see one day when she is older.

We finished celebrating Katie's 4 month birthday by taking her to Chili's for the first time for dinner. Mom and Dad had a great dinner and Katie had a great nap! Katie, our darling, happy 4 month birthday. We can't wait to see how you continue to amaze us!

First Trip to Lake of the Ozarks

This past week was Katie's first trip to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, where her Mom has been taking family vacations for the past 17 years (Dad included in the past 5).  The Peters Family packed up the car (including Daisy and Eddie) and drove the annual 12-hour trek to the Lake.  Unfortunately, the normally 12 hour drive took about 16 hours due to bad weather, but, proving to be an even more amazing baby than we thought possible, Katie was an absolute angel. She took the many hours of being strapped in her car-seat in perfect stride and as long as she could see Mom next to her, she was as happy as could be!

Katie was introduced to swimming for the first time at the Lake.  Although she and her cousin Parker are too young for lake swimming, Nana Kat and Poppy Paul got a blow up mini pool that was set up on the deck over-looking the Lake so that their Grandchildren still got their swimming time.  As you can see, they had a blast!

Katie also had fun modeling her sunhat and bathingsuits.......

Katie had a wonderful time relaxing with her family all week. She loved hanging out with her Cousin Parker, Nana Kat, Poppy Paul, Aunt Kristen and Uncle Owen. Playing "airplane" was one of her favorite activities!

Nana Kat and Poppy Paul spent a lot of time babysitting Katie so that Mom and Dad could go out and water ski, jet ski and go on a dinner date.  They were the best babysitters ever and they helped us all to have a wonderful vacation!

Katie had a wonderful time at the Lake and she can now add Kansas and Missouri to the list of states she has been to (Michigan and Illinois). She can't wait to go back next year! :)
