A Final Hoorah with Nana Kat

Nana Kat was here again this week for Katie's final "Grandma" week. She had a blast, as usual! She did lots of activities with Nana Kat, including trying out her new Bumbo chair, which helps her to learn to sit up. She loves seeing the world from a new perspective!

Katie and Nana Kat also had fun playing in her "jump-a-roo." She is a little small for it right now, but Katie is a very strong and mature Little Lady for her age so she enjoys it already, as you can see.

Monday was Mom and Dad's 2nd anniversary, so it was very lucky that Nana Kat was here to babysit while they went out to dinner!

Katie also had lots of fun cleaning, cooking and playing with Nana Kat this week! She is a very aware little girl and she watches everything. She especially likes doing laundry and vacuuming.  She loves "moving and shaking" just about anywhere!

She is going to miss her Grandmas when she starts "school" next week, but she will never forget all of the great fun and bonding time she had with her Nana Kat and Grandma Marti!

Grandparents Galore!

This weekend was especially exciting for Katie, because she got to see almost all of her Grandparents in one weekend!!! The weekend started on Friday when she went with Grandma Marti and Aunt Kathy to downtown Denver.  Aunt Kathy drove up from Santa Fe to hang out with her and Grandma Marti.  They went to the Denver Art Museum and then took a tour of a Historic Victorian House.  Katie had a blast with the "girls"!

On Friday night, Katie got another big surprise. She got to meet her Grandpa Ron and Grandma Nicole for the first time! We were just expecting Grandma Nicole so when Grandpa Ron walked in after her we were all VERY surpised. It was such a special moment (and as you can see from the picture, Eddie was not going to be left out of this special moment!).

On Saturday she had fun playing "airplane" with Grandpa Ron and "peek-a-boo" with Grandma Nicole. Next time, she hopes to meet her many Texas Aunts and Uncles!

To bring the weekend to an end, she hung out with Nana Kat and Poppy Paul on Sunday night.  Poppy Paul came to have dinner with us and to have his turn to hang out with Katie. They had fun laughing together as you can see.

Nana Kat is here for her second week of taking care of Katie. It is going to be another fun week with her Grandma!

Dad insisted that we end this week with a picture of her representing her favorite school. The University of Michigan of course!

Fun with Grandma Marti

Katie had a wonderful week hanging out with her Grandma Marti. Katie was a perfect little angel for her, as usual, and they had lots of fun playing, cleaning, laughing and bonding together.

We all had fun over the weekend going to the Denver Botanical Gardens. It was a very impressive place and we saw tons of gorgeous things.  Katie had a ball and when she wasn't napping, she loved looking at all of the bright colors and stimulating things around her. Mom and Dad had fun getting ideas of what to plant in our new yard.

Katie is continuing to grow stronger and stronger each week. This week she became a rolling machine. She is constantly rolling onto her tummy when she is on her back. We frequently now find her on her stomach in the middle of the night. We love that she is so interested in rolling but we are watching her carefully these days because we don't want her to get stuck in an unsafe position on her tummy! In addition to rolling, Katie is able to hold herself up much more than before. As you can see by this picture, it is only a matter of time before she is sitting on her own!

3 Months!!!

We can't believe our little Katie is 3 months old already! She has come a long way from her 2 month mark. She spends alot of time on her tummy and rolls both from her front to back and back to front. She is an extremely strong little girl! She also now reaches for objects and puts them in her mouth. She especially likes her Freddie the Firefly toy as you can see.

Another big milestone was that her Momma went back to work last week. She is being spoiled by her Grandma's before she goes to "school" in August. Nana Kat stayed with her last week and Grandma Marti is here this week and next week. She has been having a ball with her Grandmothers and both have reported back that she is a perfect little angel while Momma is at work.

She especially loves to play "Patty Cake" with Grandma Marti. It makes her laugh hysterically when she claps her hands together...which then makes everyone else laugh hysterically!

 Katie also had a great time for her first 4th of July with her Momma, Daddy and Grandma Marti. She went to an Art Festival downtown and then played in the backyard with her dogs and Daddy and then helped her Daddy grill the hamburgers! She had a great time and can't wait until next year when she is old enough to go to the fireworks!
